Description

As part of the event series "Adventure Home", you will visit the Monastery Village of Marienthal on this date.

The roots of the former Franciscan monastery date back to the 17th century. The building has managed to preserve its monastic character throughout its eventful history up to today. Even today, the Monastery Marienthal and the small village itself still serve as a popular place of pilgrimage and devotion.

The grace chapel in the pilgrim church with the grace image of the "Sorrowful Mother" from the 15th century and the Stations of the Cross, which are beautifully situated on a mountainside opposite the monastery, are known far beyond the borders of the region.
Since the mid-15th century, the Monastery Village of Marienthal has been a frequently visited place of pilgrimage.

Tour guide Dr. Jens Friedhoff, historian and expert on church history in the Westerwald, will take you into the history of the old walls.

Price

The event in the "Adventures of Home" series costs 5.00€ for adults and 2.00€ for children up to 12 years old, to be paid on-site in cash to the tour guide.
