Guided tour through the town center of Mehren
As part of our event series "Adventure Homeland", you will visit the half-timbered village of Mehren on this date.
The number of participants is limited. Please register!
Mehren (around 480 inhabitants) is characterized by its many well-preserved half-timbered houses. The historic town center and the Mehren church, a Romanesque basilica from the 11th/12th century, are listed as monuments. In addition to the legends surrounding the "Bulles'je", the former municipal prison from the 16th century, there are various stories, interesting facts, and sights to discover and learn about. The beautiful open-air stage by a pond invites you to take a break afterwards.
The "Legend Path" also runs directly through Mehren: As a Small Wäller, with 4.6 km, you can discover even more legends and tales along the themed round tour through the Mehrbachtal. The short route is an excellent complement to our event and is signposted!
If you are unable to attend the appointment, we kindly ask you to inform us in advance.
The event in the "Adventures in the Homeland" series costs €5.00 for adults and €2.00 for children up to 12 years old, to be paid in cash on-site to the tour guide.
The payment processing is handled by the District Adult Education Center Altenkirchen.
Once the minimum number of participants has been reached, you will receive a specific confirmation.
The meeting point is in the center of Mehren, at the entrance of the open-air stage at 2:25 PM.
Tour guide: will be announced in advance.
