Holidays in our Westerwald
We live where you go on holiday - in the beautiful Westerwald! Our community "Derschen" with its 900 inhabitants invites you to linger and offers a wonderful quality of life with the surrounding forests and meadows. The colours of nature, the fresh air and the pleasant climate always make us pause and breathe a sigh of relief.
Situated in the northernmost tip of Rhineland-Palatinate, close to North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse, the so-called "Stegskopf" is home to a unique landscape and marvellous flora. It has already been declared a national natural heritage site, but has yet to be designated a nature reserve.
In Derschen, the local heritage association, 2 farmers and an adventure farm help to preserve the culture and history of rural life. There is even a circular hiking trail to discover and enjoy.
