Description

At the interactive stations along the path, you can find out if you have what it takes to be a real robber: Do you know the "Gaunerzinken" – the robbers' secret language? Do you know how to quickly build a hideout? Try if you can spit as far as the robber chief Fetzer. Learn how to escape police tracking dogs and warn your robber comrades of pursuers. Have you "passed" all tasks? Then the "robber diploma" awaits you at the end of the circular path.
The 4.7 km long path is somewhat demanding at certain points. It leads over roots and stones and involves some moderate ascents and descents. Therefore, the path is more suitable for somewhat older children who like to hike and play actively. The path is not accessible with a stroller. On the narrow paths above the Sieg, it can become slippery when it rains – a bit of caution is advised!

Directions

The Robber's Path leads over some narrow forest and meadow paths as well as well-developed hiking trails.

The varied route starts from the parking lot at the campsite first into the dense forest and down narrow paths to the rushing Osenbach. From here, the path winds up a meadow path to the Steckensteiner Kopf. There you can enjoy a fantastic panorama over the Sieg valley. The sun sparkles through the leafy canopy of the trees, below the blue ribbon of the Sieg lines the green-covered valley. Along a narrow game trail on a blackberry-covered slope, you then continue along the path to the road. After a short section along the traffic connection accompanied by open areas of former spruce stands, the Robber's Path turns back into the forest. It continues on winding paths over roots and stones. Especially in wet weather, surefootedness is required here. Along the steep slope by the Sieg, you cross a wooden bridge before you encounter the Osenbach again with its refreshing babble after a clearing with an original half-timbered hut. In the secluded stream valley you will find a nice spot for a rest with a picnic. Afterwards, you return to the campsite via an adventurous path – don't forget to take your robber diploma from there.

Safety instructions

In the winter months, the quality of the paths may be affected on certain sections due to timber harvesting operations. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can become muddy and slippery. In particular in autumn, be aware that fallen leaves can cover uneven surfaces, roots, stones, or holes in the path.

Therefore, the path is more suitable for somewhat older children who like to hike and play actively. The path is not suitable for strollers.

Equipment

The path is not suitable for strollers.

On the Robber's Path, you need a bit of stamina, skill, and fun in being a robber.

Please wear appropriate hiking boots on the path, which give you enough support even on slippery and steep or rocky and uneven paths.

Tips

At the end of the circular path, all robbers receive the robber diploma at the campsite registration.
