Every year from early May to the end of September, the museum barn is open to all interested visitors on all holidays and on the first and third Sunday of each month from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. You can also find the dates in the calendar of the local community of Helmenzen.The visit to the museum barn is free of charge, but donations are welcomed.During a visit to the museum barn, there is much from the past to discover. The exhibition spans two floors and offers diverse insights into old times.
Equipment for field cultivation, workshop facilities, old household appliances, and tools from various professions, as well as interesting individual pieces from a director's office from the turn of the century and other furniture from the past can be found here. Three meticulously furnished rooms (kitchen, living room, bedroom) show how people lived in the Westerwald more than 100 years ago.In 2023, the exhibition was redesigned and supplemented with information boards, QR codes, and film presentations about old crafts. Now you can watch films next to the exhibits showing how the respective objects were used in the past.
