Detailed description
From the viewing plateau of Alexanderhöhe at 260 meters above sea level, the most beautiful panoramic view of the town of Kirchen (Sieg), which is also a state-recognized spa resort, can be enjoyed in the Druiden.Hexen.SiegerLand.
At the approximate location where, at the beginning of the 20th century, a summer and forest restaurant owned by Gustav Weber, along with an observation tower, welcomed guests and hikers daily with food and drinks above the Siegtal, an attractive hiking bench crafted by the wood and chainsaw artist Robin Rosenthal from Niederfischbach was installed in October 2021. It weighs 250 kg and offers 2 meters of seating area. On both sides, owls as guardians of the forest adorn the outdoor seating area. However, nothing today indicates the former restaurant on the height.
Since 2022, the Burgenwanderweg passes by the viewpoint, a 15 km circular route starting from the station in Kirchen through Wehbach in the Asdorftal towards Freusburg and back through the Siegtal. The 94 km long Druidensteig also has a stop at Alexanderhöhe on the first stage from Freusburg to Kirchen, providing a resting spot.
Not far from this viewpoint lies the recreational area of Molzberg, which includes the Molzberg pool with sauna, the children's playground Flippolino, tennis courts, and a stadium.
