One of the largest churches in the Altenkirchen-Flammersfeld municipal administration.

Detailed description

The church in Birnbach was confirmed to the Cassius Stift in Bonn in 1132. The current building (circa 1200; Protestant parish church) belongs to a group of simple Romanesque country churches. The extensive parish has belonged to the Imperial County of Sayn-Hachenburg since 1662.
