In the Town Hall of Daaden
The tourist information center in the municipal association of Daaden-Herdorf is located directly in the entrance area of the Daaden town hall at the central office. The town hall is centrally situated by the local train station and a large parking lot. From here, destinations and sights in Daaden can be easily reached on foot.
At the tourist information center, visitors can obtain relevant information and advice for vacations, nature and cultural experiences, and events in the municipality of Daaden-Herdorf. Brochures with excursion tips for the region are available, and hiking maps can be purchased.
The long-distance hiking trail Druiden-Steig features a total of 3 stages (2-4) that lead through the beautiful Daaden countryside, which has been shaped by mining for centuries. Numerous witnesses of this economic prosperity offer much for travelers. Whether it’s old mine entrances or basalt quarries reclaimed by nature, which have now become lakes due to rainwater, such as the Silbersee in the nature reserve "Mahlscheid" and the Schimmerich near Friedewald, or the ruins overgrown by nature at Hohenseelbachskopf, can all be discovered on expeditions through the forests of Herdorf and Daaden.
There are also architectural highlights such as the Baroque church in Daaden, the hut house in Herdorf, or the old Steinchens Mill between Daaden and Derschen, as well as the numerous half-timbered houses in the individual towns that exude their own charm and invite exploration and lingering.
