Raiffeisen naturally started his walk from his birthplace. However, you could also start the hike from Au (Sieg) train station. From Raiffeisenstraße in Hamm, the path leads to Mümmelbach up to Uferstraße. In good weather, you can take your first break in the beer garden of the Gasthof zum Siegtal while the children play freely on the playground or observe animals in the adjacent wildlife enclosure. Then continue leisurely along the Sieg, past the Siegbogen, on scenic paths. Take a seat on a bench, enjoy the view, and slow down! You can also stop in Hamm (Sieg), where further restaurants and cafés await you. At the Alte Vogtei, you experience Raiffeisen’s history up close while enjoying a meal. Before that, definitely take a detour to the Evangelical Church where Raiffeisen was baptized. Right next to it stands the Raiffeisen column, showing all stages of his life.
