One of THE highlights of the Westerwald-Sieg region! The basalt rock, which is around 25 million years old, was probably already used by the Celts as a meeting place. In 2006, the Druidenstein was designated a national geotope, making it one of only 77 significant geological highlights in the whole of Germany. Various hiking trails, such as the Natursteig Sieg and the Druidensteig, lead past the Druidenstein.

The Trödelsteine near Emmerzhausen are a somewhat mysterious natural monument in the Westerwald-Sieg region. This is an approx. 3000 square metre field of columns and blocks made of feldspar basalt. According to an old legend, trolls once lived here.

Dallies too narrow
The special local recreation area of Hüllwald is located on the northern edge of Daaden. The eponymous 250-year-old Hüllbuche beech tree is the jewel in the crown of this special place. The entire forest is made up of old beech trees, which probably have a lot to tell about times gone by. Soak up the tranquillity of the forest on a walk.

The picturesque Elkenrother Weiher invites you to take a leisurely stroll. It is around 8 hectares in size and borders the Weidenbruch nature reserve. Today, the pond is mainly used for fishing and walks.
Crystal-clear water, tranquil location, beautiful nature. The Silbersee lake in the Mahlscheid nature reserve is a very special gem. Although swimming is prohibited here, the natural beauty around the lake invites you to discover it. Here you can discover numerous rare animal and plant species on a hike.

In many places in the Westerwald-Sieg region, steep slopes, high mountains and rocky outcrops create a breathtaking view of the landscape. From the Kanzelsley near Bitzen, your gaze wanders into the picturesque Siegtal valley. High up on the basalt hilltop of the Steinerother Kopf, you can enjoy a sweeping view over the Elbbach valley. In the area around Kirchen, two viewpoints, the Offhausen landscape cinema and the panoramic view from the Schanzengraben, showcase the beauty of nature. Some impressive viewing towers in the Westerwald-Sieg region also offer fantastic views over the Westerwald low mountain range. For example, the Raiffeisen tower on the Beulskopf or the Barbaraturm on the Malberg.
