Detailed description

In the area around Herrnwiese south of Alsdorf, several excavations were carried out, where some ore was likely found. This led to the allocation of several mining fields with names such as “Wilhelmsglück,” “Laura,” or “Alexander.” However, significant extraction seems to have never taken place. Today, only a few shallow pits and depressions testify to the earlier search attempts for the sought-after ore.

The pit at the edge of the path marks the find location of the mining field “Laura II.”
