Steinerother Kopf

Brief description

GeoStation at the Druid Trail

Detailed description

The Steinerother Kopf is a popular destination in the Westerwald, located in the idyllic municipality of Steineroth in the district of Altenkirchen. The 478-meter-high basalt hill offers breathtaking panoramic views over the Siegerland, the Elbbachtal, and on clear days even as far as the Siebengebirge.

A well-developed, family-friendly circular path leads to the summit plateau with a summit cross – ideal for walks, hikes, or a short nature stop in between. Along the way, information boards provide insights into the fascinating history of the former basalt quarry and the diverse flora and fauna of the region.

The Steinerother Kopf is directly located on well-known hiking trails such as the Druidensteig and the Natursteig Sieg, making it an excellent starting or stopping point for exploration tours through the Westerwald.
